Mindfulness Based Compassionate Living 2024

  • Online Penryn United Kingdom (map)

This course is a postgraduate course for those who have already completed an 8 week Mindfulness course such as MBSR / MBCT. It teaches us ways to cultivate kindness and compassion for ourselves and others.

Compassion involves both sensitivity to our own and others’ suffering and the courage to deal with it. This course integrates the work of experts in the field such as Paul Gilbert, Kristin Neff, Christopher Germer, Rick Hanson and Tara Brach.  Erick van den Brink and Frits Koster developed this eight step MBCL training programme which is supported by practical exercises and free audio downloads. Grounded in ancient wisdom and modern science, this course demonstrates how being compassionate shapes our minds and brains, and benefits our health and relationships.

All course participants will receive written materials, an audio download of 24 guided meditations, a certificate of attendance and 22 hours face to face training. Cost is £200 supporting others / £180 standard / £160 unwaged

The course is delivered online over 8 weeks with the option of attending a silent practice session in person to embed your practice. Themes include:

Week One - The emotional regulation systems

Week Two: Stress Reactions And Self Compassion

Week Three: Inner Patterns

Week Four: The Compassion Mode

Week Five: Self And Others

Week Six: Happiness For All

Silent Practice Session 10-4pm - in person.

Commitment
Getting the most out of the course will require some work on your part. It requires a strong commitment to work on yourself through a gentle but rigorous daily discipline of meditation and movement practice. Making the commitment to devote the time needed for this personal exploration can feel difficult, but most people consider it worthwhile.
Once your application has been received, Stephanie will contact you for an orientation to the course and answer any questions you may want to ask.
